Quiet and shy as the youngest child in a family of five, there wasn't a time I can recall when I wasn't taking photos of daily events and family members. I used a twin-lens reflex camera (whatever happened to

that camera?) It was the way that I found my niche of observer in a world of busy parents and much older siblings. Having had a camera in my hands ever since, I've found that I have come full circle. As I got older and my interest in capturing people and landscapes on film grew ever stronger, I began to enter art shows. As I had my own family, interest turned inward into capturing my own personal space and those I loved.

After receiving my graduate degree in counseling, I was photographing action photography for the police department's annual report and SWAT training exercises. Someone suggested I try wedding photography and I was in love. For the past five years, I've specialized in weddings. Now my couples are having families .. so once again I am drawn to people and again to landscapes and cityscapes as I have traveled. I am printing my work in the darkroom and once again... entering shows. Capturing the moments that only come our way briefly has brought me contentment and satisfaction. I can't imagine not having a camera in my hands.
