Jesse Anders Wedding Photogapher Bio PortraitMeet Jesse

Photography, more than any other art form, clears my head and brings me peace. I used to go for long bike rides out of Philadelphia and up along the Schuylkill River to get away and breathe. I would bring a camera every time and eventually I found myself biking less and photographing more. I would photograph the same thing over and over again just to see how many different types of photos I could get out of the same subject. Soon, I was biking all over the city looking for abandoned warehouses, factories and going wherever there might be an interesting photograph. My camera became my excuse for exploring. I often end up lost in places I would never think to travel to otherwise.

How did I get into wedding photography? To be honest, I became a wedding photographer to make money. I might be wrong, but I am pretty sure most photographers start shooting weddings for this reason. And I, like a lot of those photographers, ended up loving my job. Really loving it! I still get to go exploring on the weekends, and meet amazing people all the time. I've recently photographed a wedding at St Patrick's Cathedral, and a Chinese tea ceremony in an interesting quirky old hotel called the 3 West Club near Rockefeller Center. It is always an amazing privilege to see families coming together, celebrating the most important days of their lives. It is always moving to be involved in a wedding ceremony, to watch a couple exchanging vows. I guess you could say I'm a little sappy.

I hope that my portfolio conveys not only my artistic abilities but also gives insight to the care and devotion that I put into each wedding.

All the best,
Jesse
