Wedding Photogaphers Bio Portrait  

Christopher Maxwell's style of photography is a mix of photojournalistic and traditional (although it varies depending upon what each client is interested in). I love the wedding photography that I do - which is one reason why I've chosen to keep my wedding photography part-time and not shoot weddings every single weekend. I have a significant list of criteria for the weddings I accept (more details on my web site; I'm primarily accepting conservative Christian weddings with modest attire), but as a result I'm able to charge less for the work I do. The master digital files are always included. Most of the weddings I shoot involve travel.

I believe in showing as many samples from THE SAME wedding as possible - so all of the sample

I've been shooting weddings since 2000, and accept work from a select clientele (primarily conservative Christian weddings with modest attire - see my site for more details). My goal is to fully document the wedding day, while remaining in the background. Instead of spending a lot of time describing my photography style, I would suggest you visit my web site. But in addition, I'll share some items that set me apart from a number of other photographers.

Here are some things I DO NOT like when done by other photographers, and as a result I do not do:

  • Run around the front of the ceremony taking pictures and being a huge distraction (I usually remain at the back, or will discreetly slip to the front a time or two for shots)
  • Be bossy and rude during the formal photo sessions or at any time (even though I maintain order during the photo session, I view the bride and groom as being "in charge", I'm always open to adding in unscheduled groups during the formals, and I remain 100% friendly and professional no matter how behind schedule we are)
  • Insist on running a tight schedule (I view the day as being the bride and groom's day, and even though we usually create a photo schedule, I don't care if things get moved around or delayed - it's a wedding day - not a photo day!)
  • Use massive amounts of flash, to the point where it looks like the wedding was held in a cave (if you look at my sample photos and web site, you'll notice my unique style of lighting results in tremendously natural photos)
  • Arrive late (to date I have never arrived late to a wedding, and usually arrive several hours early)

I'm available to travel, but only accept limited weddings.
