Candace Freeland Wedding Photogapher Bio PortraitMeet Candace Freeland

During my twenty years as a professional photojournalist employed by newspapers and magazines, I have photographed a wide range of interesting people - from school children in Nicaragua to Presidents of the United States to famous musicians and authors to community leaders and eccentric characters. Now, with Hawaii as my home, I take great pleasure in photographing wonderful people in paradise - weddings, family portraits, children, couples and individuals.

I enjoy photographing people in a way which allows their spirit and personality to shine through. Each portrait session I do is a fresh opportunity to connect with people, helping them feel relaxed and at ease, so that together we can create images that have a warm, genuine feeling.

I prefer to shoot outdoors. Being in Hawaii, nature provides the most beautiful studio one could imagine. We all look our best when the golden afternoon sun is lighting up our faces.

Photography Achievements

My photographs have been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Miami Herald, The Christian Science Monitor, U.S. News, World Report, The Charlotte Observer, and the Providence Journal-Tribune.
