Apple Aperture 1.5Apple Aperture provides professional photographers and digital artists the ideal Mac OS post production tool. It features workflow that makes working with RAW files as easy as working with JPEG natively. Aperture Release 1.5 includes significant updates including: Automatic Metadata Exportion, Flexible Library Management, iLife '06 and iWork '06 integration, Edge Sharpen and iPod-Sync. Aperture now also officially supports Intel-CPU based Macs. If you a startup photographer, a photography hobbyist on a budget, or a student, you may enter the Apple Aperture 1.5 Monthly Giveaway, part of the WPD Support the Arts program.

To qualify for our monthly entry, you must be one of the following:

  1. A United States academic student with an email ending in "@edu".
  2. A photography hobbist with an active photo Blog or personal URL.

      You may now browse all your Aperture Libraries inside Media Browser in iLife '06 and iWork '06. Import directly into Aperture with just one click.

    • Automatically Generate Previews
      Store in Aperture Library even with images from off-line. You have complete control over the customization of quality and size of your previews.

  3. Precise and Flexible Color Controls

    • Color Adjustment
      New Color Adjustment Feature provides you with greater precision to adjust saturation, hue and luminance. With more flexibility, you may intensify selected colors and separate it from your photo, reducing the need to resort to external photo editors, so it speed ups your entire production process.

  4. Metadata Entry and Management

    • Auto Fill
      You may now create presets with pre-filled information for copyright, captions, and other fields.

    • You can create personalized presets for different projects.

    • Determine preset merge and replacement rules.

  5. Extensive RAW Image Support

    • More Than 80 RAW Image Formats
      A rich library of image format are now supported, including proprietary camera formats such as: Canon EOS 1D Mark III, Leica M8, Nikon D40x, and other new camera models from Panasonic and Fuji.
