 WPD Photographer - S1 Photography (2th Place Winner) - 3/1/2007

"Congratulations to the winners and honorable mentions!! A suggestion if I may, is to preselect qualified professional photographers as judges, after public voting, say for the top 20 images. It may also be more interesting if there are categories, instead of just one. For example: candid, posed, or enhanced art. Best wishes to everyone on the next contest! ^_^ "

"This was an amazing contest with some of the best wedding photography that I have ever seen. Remember everyone, that only 25% was from the public and 75% was from the professionals. I think this was a wonderful way to run the competition. The only thing I hope is that when the public voted that if they voted 24-7, that only 1 of their votes counted. Am I correct?"

WPD Photographer - Sam Chinigo (4th Place Contestant) - 3/1/2007

"Congratulations to the winners!! A suggestion though.. is that the voting should be limited to WPD members only. As professionals, we understand what makes a strong image (and vice versa) and can see things that the average person cannot. Contest results should really not be influenced by public voting...even if it is only 25% as this can be partially manipulated. And, as with any competition between professionals..there should probably be some qualifying criteria. Again Congrats to the winners!! Looking forward to the next contest!"

"Well the contest is determined by public voters, right?"

"I think Edward De Croce should have won! Sam Chinigo is also way up there. I don't agree with the contest results." - Laurie

"I operate my own photography business. I for one think limiting to professional entries is much more fair, since it's competition amongst the same level. You wouldn't have a college team compete in the NBA would you? I'm not saying students or amatures don't have talent." - Jason

"I don't agree with the previous post. I think only allow professionals to participate in the contest is bias!"

Anonymous - 3/1/2007

"I believe the reason WPD requires a professional entry and validation of business could be that it is the only way to ensure the entry photos belong to the participants. Otherwise, if you are just a student or an amature, you have no accountability. What's stopping you from posting someone else's photo?"

"I just noticed that you had a wedding photo contest. I'd like to know if I can submit one of my wedding photos for consideration for the next contest even if I don't have a website as of yet."

Anonymous - 3/1/2007

"I think that it is unfair for you to limit the competition to members and professionals. I am trying to save money for college, so I therefore have no time nor experience for either. I am hoping to get my start as a photographer in the near future, and I am hoping to be allowed to participate in this contest."
