Bride sneaking in a sip of beer
"Happy Hour"

Photo Equipment:
Canon Canon EOS-5D
Lens: 35mm L
Exposure: f/2.2, 1/100sec, ISO 400

Notes:
"Eric and Leslie are personal friends of mine. Their Portland, Oregon wedding was a big reunion for many of us with friends coming in from all over the world. The mood was light and airy all day. Then I noticed Leslie sneaking a sip of her delicious Oregon microbrew during the formals. It was just perfect to sneak in this shot."

Bride sitting in between glass doors
"A Quiet Moment"

Photo Equipment:
Canon Canon EOS-5D
Lens: 20mm
Exposure: f/1.8, 1/160sec, ISO 400

Notes:
"This wedding took place in the most amazing little town in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico; in a very unique location - Casa Hyder which was a vacation home turned to hotel/wedding venue. One of our favorite things about this photo is that the client so totally trusted us with being there. She ignored us and lost herself in her thoughts - be it anticipation to marry her groom; excitement to see the life ahead or just relaxation before a huge day. It's just a quiet moment where the framing of the door gives a bit of a voyeuristic feel to the photograph."

Bride behind the burning red fall leaves
"Thinking Hills"

Photo Equipment:
Canon Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II
Lens: 24mm
Exposure: f/5.6, 1/250sec, ISO 400

Notes:
"We were on the bluff overlooking Binghamton New York. I scouted the location while the bride was preparing until I've found the perfect spot. I used a 1/2 warming gel on my strobe to the camera’s right. The light was balanced with the sun; allowing me to use an overall cold tone in the image communicating the chilly November day that started out with snow flurries and bringing out the red fall leaves. I felt rewarded when I was able to combine location, lighting and emotive gesture into this image. The particular scale of this image later led to a discussion on my blog."

Abstract view of Bride and groom lying down under the clouds
"Down in the Clouds"

Photo Equipment:
Canon Canon EOS 5D
Lens: 35mm 1.4L
Exposure: f/1.4, 1/2500sec

Notes:
"Los Cabos, Mexico: I envisioned a shot as we walked through the chapel while looking up at the skylights. I climbed onto the roof to gain the angle to shoot down at Mick and Monique through the long, rectangular skylights. They couldn’t hear my instructions, so I tried to gesture at them to stop posing and just be natural. Mick finally stopped looking at me and whispered something in Monique's ear; making her laugh and clench her hands a bit - the perfect moment to click the shutter. The clouds were a reflection from the glass of the skylight, resulted in an all natural image with no Photoshop effects."

Bride behind a car's back window in the rain
"Feeling Minnesota"

Photo Equipment:
Canon Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Lens: 35mm f/1.4 USM Lens
Exposure: ISO 400, f/3.5, 1/60sec

Notes:
"These are our favorite types of wedding photos - the ones that we get in between all the main moments of the wedding day. We prefer using wider to normal lenses and creeping our way into the action rather than zooming in with a longer lens and it gives a different sense of intimacy. This image is one of a series and the only one where the window was open."

Bride sitting under a tree
"Thinking of You"

Photo Equipment:
Canon Nikon D700
Lens: 85mm
Exposure: ISO 320, f1.8, 1/400sec

Notes:
"This photo was taken on a warm fall day. We were on a rustic family farm in New England with beautiful scenes everywhere. Photoshop was used to create the classic romantic tones. Bride gazing off into the distance formed a sense of curiosity."

Flower girl in front of the wedding ceremony
"Flower Girl Gaze"

Photo Equipment:
Canon 5D
Lens: 24mm-70mm 2,8
Exposure: ISO 200, f5, 1000/sec

Notes:
"This shot was taken outside a private villa in Breckenridge, Colorado in mid-September. Everyone is focused on a vocalist out-of-sight to the right. I had the advantage of the villa white wall behind me and the flower girl, working as a reflector, as I shot into the sun. I used a treatment from a Photoshop plug-in called Topaz to get the HDR look. This image has generated a lot of comments from prospective brides and it won a 1st place award in an International Wedding Photojournalists competition. I'm always looking for photojournalistic images that are sometimes on the periphery of the main action. This picture fits those criteria."

Bride's myterious veil
"Ubiquitous elegance"

Photo Equipment:
Canon EOS 5D
Lens: 35mm f/1.4L
Exposure: 1/320 f/1.4 ISO 1600

`

Notes:
"In the simple act of putting on lipstick the bride exemplifies the beauty associated with every aspect of the matrimonial day. The flair of the veil captured my attention because it was both playful and mysterious. I also liked how the reflection of the bride in the mirror appears far away, it gave the photo a magical touch."
