Falloff - Different effects in photography have different delay time, the time it takes for effects to change is called falloff.
Fast Shutter Mode - This mode allows for fast shutter speed by forcing a large aperture.
Feather - Using an image editing program or traditional photography technique, you can blur the outer edges of selected area allowing for better integration of the edited area.
Fill Flash - This mode forces the flash to go off. Also known as Force flash.
Film - Analog source for saving or recording images. This method is quite old and requires numerous chemicals to achieve desired effect. Also takes much longer, and doesn’t have all the tools digital photography has to offer.
Filter Factor - This is the amount of light the filter blocks out.
Filters - Can be plastic or glass attachments for the lens of the cameras. The effect the filter achieves differs depending on the filter used.
FireWire - A method of serial connection which is faster than USB1. Also known as IEEE-I394 or i-Link.
Fisheye - This is a lens used to create spherical photo views.
Flash the Program (by Adobe) - Previous created by Macromedia, Adobe Flash is a multimedia program used to create vector based animated and interactive content for web pages, advertisements, and internet applications. Flash is also a common web presentation media used by photographers and photojournalists to showcase their online portfolios.
Flash compensation - This option allows for control of the intensity of the camera’s flash.
Flash Exposure Compensation - A technique to compensate a measured exposure level against other factors which may render a less-optimal image.
Focus Assist Lamp -Lamp that assists in achieving focus where other cameras would fail. This is done by illuminating the object.
Focal Length - Distance from the lens to the film.
Focal Length Multiplier - You can attach lenses made for 35mm cameras to some SLR digital cameras, and this will result in increasing distance from the lens to the film or multiply it.
Focal Place (Point) - This is the object that your camera focuses on.
Focal Ring - This feature allows users to manually bring the camera into focus. This feature is available in both Digital and traditional photography.
Focal Tracking - This enables your camera to auto focus on moving objects by tracking it within the frame.
Focusing Spot / Zone - This is the area on which the camera can calculate focus.
Force Flash - This mode forces the flash to go off. Also known as Fill flash.
F-stop -Numerical size of the aperture on a camera.
