Wow, just read the winner's page, it turns out the sun in the photo was actually triggered backflash! Got me fooled! interesting enough the info on this page says the flash was not fired, guess it's not in the Exif info.
I'm curious on how the custom white balance is set for this shot; where to place the balance card for reference, and also if any post is done or the WB is left as it is.... which would be very impressive,
Great wide angle shot and lens choice! Shooting with sunlight dead on is always tricky.
I agree with shutterdude. This shot is compositionally perfect. I love the colors, the lighting the angle. I like that the people in the back are dark and I feel they almost add to the shot rather than taking away from it. Beautiful! One of my favorite images in this contest!
What a nitpick about the bride's head! For me, the background people didn't bother me at all. I'm not sure if the photographer intentionally waited, or just pure luck, I especially like the fact all the people are facing away (I mean away from center), which really helped with the overall composition.
what an awesome location! Not sure how much the people in the background bother me... but for the couple, if you had their heads facing straight at each other, we could get a nice profile shot. The bride looks like she is tilting her head a little away from the camera.
