2. S1 Photography (WPD Member Contestant) - (3/28/2009 3:20:53 PM) great composition! the image would be better if the highlight and sky gradient is preserved. a panoramic crop will make it more interesting also.
1. Brandon Wright (Outside Contestant) - (3/27/2009 8:51:31 PM) Very vivid color, but I'd like to see more of it in the highlights. If this were shot on film you could maintain nice creamy colors in the sky and definition in the hill where the sun is (so long as the negative was scanned right, or burned in in the darkroom). Right now the sun is blowing a hole in the hill. Also, the gradient is a bit choppy and the shoulder in the highlights drops of too suddenly. Even with the excuse of digital, this all could be remedied with some heavy post-production.
