2008 Summer Creative Wedding Photography Contest
The WPD 2008 Summer Professional Creative Wedding Photo Contest is open to WPD members and outside professional wedding photographers. Contest finalists will be revealed to the public for voting and critique. The winners will be determined by voters. Points will be judged leaned torwards creativity and concept. The $1,000 grand prize could be yours!

The nature of the WPD wedding photo contest's public critique is to elevate the contestant's level of creativity via honest and constructive open feedback. For the first time, the WPD is introducing the WPD Contest Commentator Award to the individual that provides the best and insightful critique. The winner will have a selection of Adobe Photoshop Plugins to choose from the following software vendors: onOne, Extensis, Alien Skin, and Zevrix. |

Contest Timeline & Winner Selection
5/15/2008 - Contest submission opens to the public.
7/15/2008 - Contest submission closes.

7/16/2008 to 7/25/2008 - Initial WPD pre-qualification selection.

7/26/2008 to 9/26/2008 - Contest wedding photos open for public voting and critique.
10/15/2008 - Public voting data is analyzed, and winners are announced.
Free WPD Member Entry Rules
WPD Photographer Member Contest Entry Rules
Each contestant may submit up to three CREATIVE wedding photos. Creativity must be achieved via a photography concept, or photographic techniques. Only one photo (the one which receives the most votes) will be allowed into the final top three winners selection.
WPD members MAY NOT enter wedding photos that were not photographed by themselves. Violation of this contest policy will lead to a permanent ban from Wedding Photography Directory.
New work required - you MAY NOT submit photos that have been selected from the previous WPD photography contest lineups.
All existing WPD members are eligible for contest.

If you've made it into the top three selection, you will be given seven days to submit a self portrait (optional), photo decription, and bio in order to claim the winning prize. Failure to submit acts as a forfeit of the contest.
Outside Wedding Photographer Entry Rules

As an outside photographer, you must pay a $15 contest entry fee to qualify for your URL portfolio review, and photo submission.

Each contestant may submit up to three creative wedding photos. Professionalism standards must be achieved via photography concept and photographic techniques. Only one photo (the one which receives the most votes) will be allowed into the final top three winners selection.

You must live and operate your photography business within the United States or Canada.

You must own your wedding photography business URL, and own exclusive rights to your wedding photos. Your website contains easy-to-find contact information via both email (or contact form), and business phone number.

You MAY NOT enter photographs that were not shot by you.

If your photos pass the initial contest qualification selection made by the WPD, our staff will contact you in person to validate your legitimacy in your contest participation. An Indication of Proprietary Ownership Agreement must be signed, and faxed back to Wedding Photography Directory.
