Support the Arts and Educational Non-Profit Organizations
Photography is an vital form of the visual arts. Most wedding photographers are familiar with how hard it is to start an art career, and the financial funding challenges the arts and educational organizations have to overcome. The WPD founders have deep roots in the visual and the performing arts. We are dedicated to promote and support the arts, creative, and the educational communities.
One of our primary commitments is to donate a portion of our revenues into the Wedding Photography Directory Charity Allocation Budget. As our web site grows, and more photographer members join our directory, we will continuously strive to assist the non-profit organizations, and establish the WPD as a member of the contribution community.
The WPD Currently Donates to the Following Organizations:
NYFA (NY) - The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) helps artists turn inspiration into art by giving more money and support to individual artists and arts organizations than any other comparable institution in the U.S. Our goal is to provide the time and resources for the creative mind and the artistic spirit to think, work, and prosper.
The Dance Complex (MA) - The Dance Complex is a volunteer based, artist run organization dedicated to promoting, advancing, and sponsoring artistic endeavors, creative work and education in dance and the movement arts. The Dance Complex is a process; we are members of the arts community establishing a resource, referral and support center that is responsive to a wide diversity of needs.
Creative Commons (CA - Worldwide) - Creative Commons licenses provide a flexible range of protections and freedoms for authors, artists, and educators. The organization have built upon the "all rights reserved" concept of traditional copyright to offer a voluntary "some rights reserved" approach. The Creative Commons is a non-profit organization that offers tools to the creative public domain for free. The organization is sustained by the contributions of a growing group of supporters.
